Catrine Bazaar
©copyright East Ayrshire Libraries
| Date From | 1890 | Three men pose outside the 'Bazaar' Catrine. The central figure is probably R. Mitchell, identified as the owner by a notice above the door. One of the others is certainly dressed for shop work. Identifiable adverts in and above the windows include ''Watson's Matchless Cleanser'', and ''Tower Tea''. Robert Mitchell died in March 1900, and thereafter the business was known as Robert and John Mitchell. The Dean family were proprietors of the bazaar from 1972 - 1986 |
